A good deal of people are unsure about what the various levels of certification within the electric services industry mean and what service providers can actually do. In this informative article, we look at Flat 2 Electricians and the services they’re qualified to provide to industrial, commercial and residential properties.  We recommend Over Head Electrical for all of your electrical needs, get in touch with an electrician in manly today.

The essential distinction between a Level 1 Accredited Service Provider (ASP) and a Level 2 ASP is that the latter is qualified to perform repairs, installations and maintenance work on service lines that run between a home (both residential and business ) and the electrical distribution network.

This can consist of disconnection and reconnection of the electric supply, working on overhead and underground service lines, upgrading of the electricity source, and installing and connecting electrical meters. To ensure the security and reliability of NSW’s energy supply, only Accredited Service Providers (ASPs) working under the ASP scheme can execute any work connected to the services listed above.

Therefore, any time your home, industrial or business property requires work that involves the electric supply network — whether you are upgrading, renovating, experiencing a power source failure, or you have moved into a new construction — you must, by law, engage a Degree 2 ASP to execute the work.

We’re licensed to carry out the following:

  • Disconnection of your assumptions from the network (class 1);
  • Installation or repair of an underground service line that connects your premises to the power network (class 2);
  • Installation or repair of an overhead service line which connect your assumptions to the power network (category 3);
  • Setup and activation of a power meter at your premises (class 4).
